About

Caroline Hackett is a proud double alumna of Florida State University, having earned both her M.A. (2019) and Ph.D. (2024) from FSU, following her B.A. from the University of Florida (2014).

Her research challenges traditional assumptions about the autonomy of historical women, examining how married women in southern France leveraged notarial and legal frameworks to manage property and wealth between 1750 and 1815.

Dedicated to student engagement, Caroline designs interactive coursework that encourages students to practice history firsthand. When she isn't teaching or writing, she can be found traveling the world, hunting for vintage treasures, or at home with her family.
