Research Interests: Dean Michel is a doctoral candidate writing a dissertation entitled: “A Watery Grave in the Desert: Termination, Survivance, and the Chemehuevi Indian Tribe.” He has presented papers at several conferences, including the Western History Association, Native American and Indigenous Studies Association, and American Society for Ethnohistory, and will be a Mellon Fellow at Dunbarton Oakes 2025-2026.
